7、ea 2 is the same size as around 64,000 football pitches!It sits next to Hornsea 1 which has been operating since 2020.The electricity created from Hornsea 1s wind turbines is enough to power around a million homes.Hornsea 2 will provide energy for around 1.4 million homes in the UK.The 165 turbines

8、are each 200m tall and just one turn of a wind turbine produces enough electricity to power a home for 24 hours!The project has not been easy though.The company responsible for the wind farm,rsted,started it back in 2017.The global COVID-19 pandemic,severe weather and a broken down ship challenged t

9、hem and caused delays.Speaking of the challenges they faced,Patrick Harnett the Senior Programme Director for the project said:“We overcame every challenge we met because we never measured success by the challenges we had;we measured it by how we overcame them together.”Duncan Clark also works for r

10、sted.He said:“Current global events highlight more than ever the importance of landmark renewable energy projects like Hornsea 2”.rsted intend for the wind farm to operate for at least 25 years.Now,they are creating Hornsea 3.This will be an even greater challenge as they plan to have enough wind tu
