    1、Unit 4语法篇_理解并掌握so that引导的状语从句的用法so that与sothat的用法辨析1. so that引导目的状语从句时,表示“以便,为了”从句中常使用can/ could/ may/ might/ will/ would/ should等情态动词或助动词;引导结果状语从句时,从句中一般不用can和may等词,在so that前可以用逗号,意思是“因此,所以”。例如: The little boy saved every coin so that he could buy his mother a present on Mothers Day. 小男孩儿节省每一枚硬币,以便

    2、在母亲节可以给妈妈买礼物。 We got up early, so that we caught the early bus. 我们起得很早,因此赶上了早班车。 2. so+形容词或副词+that引导结果状语从句,意思是“如此以至于”。例如: The sunshine is so beautiful that Id like to go swimming in the sea. 阳光如此美丽以至于我想在海里游泳。 Miss Gao asked a question, but it was so difficult that nobody could answer it. 高老师问了一个问题,但

    3、太难了以至于没有人能回答上来。 注意: 1. 当that引导的结果状语从句为肯定句时,sothat可以与beenough to do转换;当从句为否定句时,可以与tooto或be notenough to do转换。例如: David was so careless that he didnt find the mistakes in his test paper. = David was too careless to find the mistakes in his test paper. David非常粗心,以至于他没有找到试卷中的错误。 2. sothat可以用suchthat来代替。

    4、例如: He is so good a doctor that everybody loves and respects him. = He is such a good doctor that everybody loves and respects him. 他是一名好医生,以至于每个人都喜爱他、尊敬他。 not only.but also的用法 not only. but also意为“不但.而且.”,它是一个表并列关系的连词,用来连接两个并列关系的句子成分。例如: I can speak not only English, but also French. 我不但会讲英语,而且会讲法语
