It is very difficult to deal with noisy children. 辨析: do with 也是“处理,处置;对付”之义。区别在于:deal 为不及物动词,本身不需要宾语;do为及物动词,本身需要宾语。如: You must do all you can with the examination. 你必须尽最大努力准备好这次考试。What shall we do with the problem? /How shall we deal with the problem? 我们将如何处理这个问题?.2.If y
4、ou miss some information, write a question mark to remind you to listen especially carefully the second time. 如果你错过了一些信息,写一个问号来提醒你第二次特别仔细地去听。remind sb. to do sth. 提醒某人做某事。如:I reminded him to come back before dark. 拓展: remind sb. of sth. 使某人回想起某事。如:The lovely Mickey Mouse doesnt remind people of the
5、unfavour-able images of mice and rats. 可爱的米老鼠并没有让人们想起老鼠那不好的形象。3.Its three times as big as underwater. 水下部分是水上部分的三倍。该句为asas句型,as big as underwater 后面省略了as that above water. 该句three times 为状语,修饰asas句型。比较句型中的状语要放在第一个as或比较级之前。如:This box is twice as big as that one. The ship can run three times faster th
6、an small boat. 误区警示:不要受汉语干扰而把“大三倍”说成bigger three times. 4. Therearefantasticshowseverytwohours.“every+基数词+复数名词”,表示“每,每隔”。如:Igothereeverythreedays.我每隔两天就去那里一趟。Hestoppedandturnedroundeveryfewmeters.每隔几米他就停下来回头看看。拓展:我们还可以用“every+序数词+单数名词”来表达同样的意思。Everyfouryears=everyfourthyear每四年,每隔三年everytwodays=every
7、other/secondday每两天,每隔一天5.辨析:energy , power , strength 与force (1)energy 主要指人的精力,自然界的力、能源等。如:Old though he is, he still has much energy to work 12 hours a day. Electrical energy raises and lowers elevators. (2)power 主要指做一件事所依靠的能力、功能、人或机器等事物潜在的或所能发挥出来的力量、职权、权力或政权。如:Water power creates electric power. 水
8、力能产生电力。(3)strength 常指固定潜在的力量,指人,着重指力气,指物,着重指潜力等。如:We dont know the strength of their team. (4)force 主要指暴力,势力,说服力,压制力,法律、道德或感情的力量,总之,它是活动过程中的力。如:The police had to use force when they took him to the police station.6. discovery n. 发现 the act of discovering sth. Inspired by their discovery, many people
