1、第8讲：Module 4 语法篇_语法：情态动词的用法一、提建议。 在英语中，我们可以用其他多种方式提出我们的建议或征求对方意见。(1).用“Lets do.”来提出建议。如：Lets go for a walk after supper.(2).用“What/How about.?”来提出建议；about后接名词或动词ing形式。如：What about/How about a drink? What about/How about taking Tom with us?(3).用“Why not.?”来提出建议，表示“何不”not面后接动词原形。“Why not.?”实际上是“Why do

2、nt you/we.?”的简略形式。如：Why not meet at the school gate at eight? Why dont we stay here another day?(4).用“Would you like.?”来提出建议，意思是“你想要吗?”Would you like后可接名词或不定式。如：Would you like a cup of tea?Would you like to go and see her?因此，如果我们说：“去游泳好吗?”英语中可有这样几种表达法：Shall we go for a swim?Lets go for a swim，shall

3、we?What about/How about going swimming?Why not go for a swim?Would you like to go for a swim?What do you think of going for a swim?二、语法： 情态动词有can (could), may (might), must, have to, shall (should, will (would), dare (dared), need (needed), ought to等。 情态动词无人称和数的变化；不能单独使用，必须与其后的动词原形构成谓语1.can, could1)

4、 表示能力（体力、知识、技能）。可用be able to代替。Can只有一般现在时和一般过去式；而be able to则有更多的时态。Ill not be able to come this afternoon.2) 表示请求和允许。-Can I go now? - Yes, you can. / No, you cant. 3) 表示客观可能性（客观原因形成的能力）。Theyve changed the timetable, so we can go by bus instead.This hall can hold 500 people at least. 4) 表示推测（惊讶、怀疑、不相

5、信的态度），用于疑问句、否定句和感叹句中。Can this be true?2. may, might1) 表示请求和允许。might比 may语气更委婉，而不是过去式。否定回答时可用cant或mustnt，表示“不可以，禁止”。1.-Might/ May I smoke in this room? - No, you mustnt.2.- May/Might I take this book out of the room?- Yes, you can.
