3、st last year.She hoped to be back 11 weeks later.However,she had to overcome lots of obstacles on her way to becoming a world record holder.Zara had to fly following something called Visual Flight Rules.Unlike some planes,which can use technology to fly in or above clouds and bad weather,Zara had to

4、 be able to see well to fly safely.It meant that bad weather was a constant problem.Wildfires were raging in California,USA,as she flew over.The smoke caused her to have to climb up to 10,000 feet making it hard to see the ground.Problems with a visa and the weather kept her in Alaska,USA,for a mont

5、h and in Russia for a month too.If she had tried to hurry and fly through some of the icy clouds over Russia,the ice could have built up on the wings of her plane and caused her to lose control.In December,she had to speed up her flight plan to stay ahead of Supertyphoon Rai which hit the Philippine

6、s.Zara also nearly ran into trouble near North Korea.A storm looked like it might cut off her route and she couldnt go through North Korean airspace to avoid it.Thankfully,she squeezed through in time and landed safely in South Korea.Still only 19,Zara said she wants to go to university to study com
