    13、e proud.这就是那个我们为之骄傲的英雄。(whom不能省,也不能用who代替)This is the pen with which I wrote the letter.这就是我用它写信的那支钢笔。(which不能省,也不能用that代替。)(2)当介词位于定语从句的末尾时,可用that/which(指物),that/whom/who(指人)作介词的宾语,且作介词宾语的关系代词可以省略。(3)“复合介词短语关系代词which”引导定语从句,这种结构引导的定语从句常与先行词用逗号分开,定语从句常用倒装语序。He lived in a big house,in front of which

    17、hout the help of Friends Reunited取代了if引导的条件状语从句。与此类似的介词短语有:but for,in that case等。Without air,there would be no life on the earth.要是没有空气,地球上就不会有生命了。He would have failed but for his teachers timely advice.如果没有老师及时的建议的话,他可能就失败了。We could have done the work better in that case.要是那样的话,我们本可以把工作干得更好一些的。即学即用
