5、ething nice about me. I realized then that I had ruined my senior year by being disrespectful,and I had probably ruined hers as well. So that evening I wrote her a letter apologizing and thanking her. Then one Saturday,as I was reading in the library,I felt someone gently take my arm and say softly,
6、“Lynn Jones,how are you doing?” I looked up and saw the familiar face. “Thanks for the letter,” she said. “It meant a lot. ” When I think of a coach,I think of someone above me,someone who gives instructionnot a friend. But Coach Smith is different,and,like any other good friend,she dealt with my pr
7、oblem in a determined way even when I hated her for it at that time. I didnt deserve (值得) her kindness,but she gave it anyway. In this documentary,biologist Aaron Wirsing expl
17、ored why wolves and other top predators (捕食者) were needed for diverse ecosystems to develop. Using a simple video camera,Wirsing is gaining a unique view point on predator-prey relationships and changing the way we think about wolves. The research is one more piece of evidence for why protecting the
18、se top predators is important not just for wolves as a species,but for hundreds of species at every level of an ecosystem.
