They combine funny words, pictures, and social opinion. Dr Seuss wrote his first book for children in 1937. It is

8、s dealt with serious subjects. By the middle 1940s, Dr Seuss had become one of the best-loved and most successful writers of childrens books. He had a strong desire to help children.
