    9、ast.只需要告诉我你早餐吃的什么。,重难词句选析1lonely adj. 孤独的;寂寞的(教材P72)【辨析】lonely与alone(1)lonely在句中作表语或定语,强调主观上感到孤独、寂寞,有较浓的感情色彩,指因缺少朋友、同情、友谊等产生的一种悲伤和忧郁的感情。如:He has been very lonely since his wife left him.自从他妻子离开后,他一直很孤独。(2)lonely在句中作定语时,还可意为“荒凉的;偏僻的”,多用来修饰表示地点的名词。如:Little Tom was taken to a lonely island.小汤姆被带到一个孤岛上。

    10、(3)alone用作形容词时,只作表语,不能作定语。侧重说明独自一人,没有助手或同伴,无感情色彩。只表示客观的状态。如:He doesnt feel lonely when he is alone.他独自一人时并不感到孤独。(4)alone用作副词时,意为“独自;单独”。如:After his wife died,he lived alone.妻子死后,他独自生活。【即时训练】用lonely或alone填空。(1)The old man felt _lonely_ when his pet dog died.(2)The boy dares to be _alone_ in the dark.

    11、2regret v. 懊悔;遗憾(教材P72)【点拨】regret作动词,意为“懊悔;遗憾”。常用搭配为:regret doing sth.(对已经发生的事情感到后悔);regret to do sth.(为要做的事情感到遗憾)。如:I regret taking his advice.我后悔采纳了他的意见。We regret to inform you that your application has not been successful.我们遗憾地通知您,您的申请没有成功。【即时训练】根据汉语意思完成句子。(1)我因告诉了他事情的真相而后悔。I _regret_telling_ him

    12、 the truth of that matter.(2)先生,很遗憾地告诉您,我们这里不接受现金付款的方式。Sir,I _regret_to_tell_ you that we cant accept payment by cash.3encourage v. 鼓励;激励(教材P72)【点拨】encourage意为” 鼓励;激励”,常用短语为encourage sb.to do sth.,意为“鼓励某人做某事”。如:Our English teacher often encourages us to speak English as much as possible in class.我们的

    14、材P80)【点拨】avoid意为“避开/躲避某人或某物”;也可表示“防止某事的发生”。其后可接名词、代词或动名词作宾语。如:He avoided answering my question.对于我的问题,他避而不答。She braked suddenly and avoided an accident.她紧急刹车,避免了一场车祸。【即时训练】用所给词的适当形式填空。(1)No one can avoid _being_influenced_(influence) by advertisements.(2)So,from now on,lets avoid _wasting_(waste) wa

    15、ter and take action to save water,which is important to people all over the world.5seem v. 看来;似乎(教材P82) 【点拨】seem常用作连系动词,多用于下列结构中:(1)seem(to be) 形容词/名词/介词短语 如: She seems (to be) quite sad.她似乎很伤心。They seem strangers.他们好像是陌生人。The twins seem at home.双胞胎好像在家。(2)seem to do sth.如:Our teacher seems to know

    16、everything.我们老师似乎什么都知道。(3)It seems (that) 从句 如: It seems that I have seen him somewhere before.我们好像以前曾在什么地方见过他。注意:“It seems (that)从句”可以与“主语seem to do sth.”结构互换。如:It seemed that our teacher knew that.Our teacher seemed to know that.我们老师好像知道那件事。【即时训练】根据汉语意思及提示词,翻译句子。他似乎没什么担心的事情。(seem)_It_seems_that_he

    17、_has_nothing_to_worry_about._6Can I take a message?要我捎口信吗?(教材P72)【点拨】take a message意为“捎口信”。如:Hello! Could I speak to Mr Li?你好,请找李先生接电话好吗?Im sorry, he isnt in the office.Could I take a message for you?对不起,他不在办公室。我能为你捎个口信吗?【拓展】leave a message意为“留言”。如:Tom left the message when he left here.汤姆离开时留言了。【即时

    18、训练】句型转换。Ill give him a message.(改为同义句)Ill _take_ a _message_ for him.7Could I ask if youve mentioned this to her?我可以问一下你是否向她提过此事吗? (教材P72) 【点拨】该句中if引导的从句作ask的宾语。主句是一般现在时态,从句可以根据实际情况用任何时态,即“主现从任”。if意为“是否”,可与whether互换。如:He asks if/whether I will come to his party next weekend.他问我下周是否要参加他的派对。 I dont kn

    19、ow if/whether she can work out the problem.我不知道她是否能算出这道题。 注意:下列情况下表示“是否”只能用whether:(1)与or not连用时,如:I dont know whether I should tell them the secret or not.我不知道该不该告诉他们这个秘密。(2)在句首使用时,如:Whether you come or not will be OK.你来不来都无所谓。(3)在介词后使用时,如:It depends on whether he can solve the problem.那个取决于他是否能解决这

    20、个问题。(4)与动词不定式连用时,如:I cant decide whether to believe him or not.我无法决定是否要相信他。(5)在discuss,doubt后使用时,如:They are discussing whether they should put off the school trip.他们在讨论是否应该推迟学校郊游。【即时训练】根据汉语意思完成句子。(1)王丽问我是否可以和她一起去看电影。Wang Li asks _if/whether_ I can go to the cinema with her.(2)我们还没有决定是否去北京度假。We haven
