    7、 Before doing that, encourage Ss to read these phrases and make sure Ss can pronounce and understand them well. Give them some help if necessary. Ask Ss to fill in the blanks on their own. Then check the answers.Step IV 1b Listening1. Pre-listening. Tell Ss some listening tips and make sure Ss can u

    8、nderstand what they will do 2. While-listening (1). Play the tape the first time and ask students to listen for the general idea of 1b. The general idea of the conversation is about asking the way(2). Play the tape the second time and ask students to listen for the specific ideas of 1b. Check the an

    9、swers together. Listen and complete the conversations in the picture in 1a.3. Post-listening Encourage Ss to make conversations according to the listening content. Work in pairs Step V.1c Oral practice and PairworkWork on 1c 1 Invite one group of Ss to practice the conversation on the screen.2. Acco

    10、rding to the conversation in 1a, get the students to make dialogues in pairs . For example:A: Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to?B: Sure.
