But the creators of CharityMiles, a new application for iPhones and Android devices, have come up with a way for anyone who walks, runs, or bikes t

    3、o connect with sponsors at anytime. Its a simple systemdownload the free application, choose one of nine participating charities, and start moving. For every mile you walk or run, 25 cents goes to your charity. Biking, meanwhile, earns a dime per mile. That isnt a huge sum, but if hundreds of thousa

    4、ndsmaybe millionsof people download the application? The dimes might start to add up. CharityMiles still has some work to do, including attracting more charities. The company is putting up one million US dollars to fund itself, and its creators are confident that they will attract several sponsors s

    5、oon. Whether or not CharityMiles gets more funding or attracts more charities, its certainly a new way to encourage green living and aid good causes.     14、tion: those who drank alcohol had higher blood levels of high-density lipoproteins(脂蛋白), the so-called good cholesterol(胆固醇), which is known to prevent heart disease. As evidence has mounted, some doctors have begun recommending a daily drink for patients of heart diseases. But most physicians are n

    15、ot ready to recommend a regular happy hour for everyone. The risks of totally giving up alcohol are nothing compared with the dangers of too much alcohol, including high blood pressure, strokes and liver(肝脏)troublesnot to mention violent behavior and traffic accidents. Moreover, some studies suggest

    16、 that even moderate drinking may increase the incidence of breast and colon(结肠)cancer.
