2、f China will open at 9:00 a.m. at the Great Hall of the People here in Beijing.Its due to last 7 days until November 14th.CPC congress spokesperson Cai Mingzhao says the Party will formulate goals, strategic targets and guidelines for future reforms at this years event.Going forward, China will emph

3、asize more on top-down designs and the building of supporting systems for the benefits of the people and provide more solid impetus for the national campaign of building a moderately prosperous society.Cai Mingzhao also says the congress is due to discuss how to better fight against corruption.This

4、comes in the wake of the cases involving Bo Xilai and Liu Zhijun.The 18th Party Congress will give top priority to the task of fighting corruption, and upholding integrity, and it will make comprehensive arrangements in this regard. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection is drafting a work

5、ing plan on punishing and preventing corruption between 2013 and 2017.Cai says the handling of the Bo and Liu cases should be an indication of the Partys strong resolve and attitude against corruption.Bo Xilai is the former chief of the party Committee in Chongqing.He was also a member of the Politi

6、cal Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.Bo Xilai has been stripped of his CPC membership and removed from public service for severe disciplinary violations.Former Railways minister Liu Zhijun used his position to secure illegal profits for business associates.Hes also been stripped of his CPC member

7、ship.In terms of Chinas future economic fortunes, Cai Mingzhao says there is still a lot of room for development.We will continue to follow the overall principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and pay more attention to ensuring steady growth. We will strengthen and improve macro ec

8、onomic management and earnestly implement all the policy measure that we have adopted. We will continue to make preemptive adjustment and fine-tuning to our policies in line with the changing circumstances so as to ensure the steady and relatively fast development of our economy. The party congress
