3、Offer Free Period ProductsOn 15th August,Scotland became the first country to make period products freely available to those who need them.The Period Products Bill was first introduced by Monica Lennon,a member of the Scottish Parliament(MSP).She has been campaigning for change since 2016.After brin

4、ging the Bill to parliament in 2019,it was passed in 2020 with a unanimous vote in favour of the Act.Legally,education providers and councils in Scotland now have to make period products available.According to the Act:There must be no judgement as to the need,no limit to the amount of products an in

5、dividual can take,nor attempts to ration products.An app has been created to help people find period products.The app,called PickupMyPeriod,was created by Hey Girls.They say that there are already more than 1,000 pickup points.Celia Hodson is the founder of Hey Girls.She said that the Act will:“help

6、 thousands of people across the country who are often forced to make difficult and unsafe decisions about the products they use”.In a survey by Young Scot in 2018,around a quarter of those asked had had difficulty accessing the products they needed for their period in the past year.Hodson also said:

7、“We are thrilled this monumental day has finally arrived,although our fight to end period poverty and deliver period equality across the UK is far from over.”In England,there is a Period Products Scheme.This provides free products to those aged 16-19 in their place of education.The Welsh government

8、says almost 9million in funding has been spent providing free period products to those in communities,schools and colleges since 2018.Northern Ireland passed a law in May this year.This will mean that period products must legally be available in places of education as well as public places in the fu
