    4、l day in the area, most students were at schools when the earthquake happened.Many young people were buried under destroyed school buildings.Many people were also trapped in their homes.Reports said that entire towns and villages were completely wiped out in northern Pakistan.The serious damage was

    5、mainly because of poor buildings.Indian Ocean EarthquakeKnown as the SumatraAndaman earthquake, Indian Ocean Earthquake happened on 26 December 2004.While the earthquake itself lasted for only 10 seconds, it caused a tsunami (海啸).The tsunami killed about 200,000 to 310,000 people along the shores (海

    13、 down her book and ran to the child. She pushed the man aside and calmly said, “Im a nurse.” At the moment, she felt that the words were true. She began administering CPR (实施心肺复苏术). After a few minutes of this, the boy coughed and spat (吐) up the water. As the boy sat up, his parents were finally he

More shelters were needed than usual, because the governments were trying to fill the shelters only half full to allow enough space between people.Because of the disease, many people didnt want to depart from their homes.This was especially true in India.Part of
