1、七年级英语下册Unit 3重点单词用法1.certain某个；某些，形容词。【用法】（1）放名词前。例a certain friend of his。（2）be certain to do sth.一定做某事。例We are certain to win the football match.2.medicine药，药物（尤指口服的药水），名词（不可数）。【用法】take medicine吃药。例You can take medicine three times a day.3.than比，介词。【用法】该词前用形容词或副词的比较级。例She is taller than I. /He run

2、s faster than Henry.4.remain继续，依然（保持某种状态），动词（系动词）。【用法】后接形容词、名词、动词不定式、介词和形容词短语等作表语，指某人或某事仍保持某种状态。例They remained calm when they were in danger. /They remained good friends./It remained a secret. 5.another另一个，别的，限定词。【用法】（1）指代三个或三个以上的另一个，既可以作为代词使用，也可以作为形容词使用。例Youd better try and find another job.（2）后接单数

3、可数名词，表示“另一个”的意思。例I want another book. （3）another用于在原有基础上再增加一个，表示“增加的”或“额外的”。例Could I have another piece of bread?（4）当复数名词前有基数词或few修饰时，也可以用another。例We need another three chairs.6.connection（两个事实、观点、事件等之间的）联系，关联，名词。【用法】（1）表示两个事物、人或团体之间的关系。例They have a close connection. （2）表示两种事实、想法等的联系。例There is a str

6、are similar to mine. （2）similar in sth.在某方面相似。例The two cities are similar in size. 9.add添加，增加，动词。【用法】（1）既可作及物动词，又可用作不及物动词。例If the tea is too strong, add some more hot water（2）add to增添，增加，增进。例The bad weather added to our difficulties./He did nothing but add to our trouble. （3）add. to.把加到上, 是把.加到.之后或之

7、中。例If you want to eat hot things, you can add red pepper to them./Add these to the sandwich. /Add two to seven, and you will get nine.10.until直到.为止，介词。【用法】用于肯定句时，句子的谓语动词必须是持续动词：live, wait, last, love, like, stay, work, continue等。例It may last until Friday. / They waited until we finished the work. 用于

8、否定句时，句子的谓语动词是非持续动词。常译为“直到才”或“直到之前。例Dont open it until your birthday./She didnt go home until she finished the work.11.loud大声的，喧闹的，形容词。【用法】（1）声音大的。例She has a loud voice.（2）喧闹的。例I cant sleep because the girl is being loud. 12.Western（观念或方式）西方的，欧美的，形容词。【用法】用在人名、地名、其他特殊名称以及在句首时需要大写。指世界或一国之西，也可指某地属于或在西部。

11、发生了某事。例The moving story happened in 2019.（2） sth.+happen(s)/happened to+sb.，某人出了某事（常指不好的事）。例A car accident happened to her this morning.（3）sb.+happen(s)/happened+to do sth.，某人碰巧做某事。例I happened to meet a friend on the street yesterday.（4） it happen(s)/happened that.碰巧/恰巧发生某事。例It happened that they were at home that day.3
