The AI that generated(生成)the image had human programmersa Parisian art team called Obvious. To generate the portrait, titled“Portrait of Edmond De Belamy”, the Obvious team firs

    11、t fed the neural network a diet of 15, 000 images painted between the 14th and 20th centuries, to train it to recognize visual elements in fine art, Obvious artist Hugo Caselles-Dupr told Christies. The algorithm that eventually created an original image had two parts that worked against each other,

    12、 called the Generator and the Discriminator. “The Generator makes a new image based on the set, and then the Discriminator tries to spot the difference between a human-made image and one created by the Generator. The aim is to fool the Discriminator into thinking that the new images are real-life po

    13、rtraits. Then, we have a result, ”he told Christies. GANs final image was then inkjet-printed on canvas and framed, according to Obvious. At the bottom of the portrait is a mathematical formula(公式)representing the algorithm that created it, Obvious artists wrote on the teams website. The goal of the

Such bruises are caused by cupping (拔火罐), a traditional Chinese medicinal practice that has been around for

    25、 more than 2, 000 years. In 2015, Chinese scientist Tu Youyou was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her discovery of artemisinin (青蒿素), a drug that can cure malaria (疟疾). She said she was inspired by traditional Chinese medicine. TCM still faces many challenges, such as a lack of

    26、 clinical evidence as to precisely how it works, according to China Daily. “Not matched to several Western testing standards, TCMs effectiveness has been difficult to study or provide evidence for, ” according to CNN. Some say that TCM should be combined with modern scientific methods to make it mor

    27、e acceptable to people outside of China. “Tried and tested over thousands of years, the effectiveness of TCM is clear, ” Lu Chuanjian, vice-president of the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine, told China Daily. “Now we need to use modern technology and ways of thinking to explain to t
