2、ormed the headquarters of a pro-Assad TV station, killing at least 7 people.The gunmen are reprorted to have tied the hands of some of the employees of the al-Ekhbariah TV in suburban Damascus and killed them in cold-blooded.The UN Supervision Mission in Syria called the attack alarming, and called

3、on all parties to protect the journalists as noncombatants.The attack comes following what opposition activists describe as the worst battle so far in the Syrian capital, in which over 30 people were killed.At the same time, UN investigators have postponed making public their findings on the massive

4、 killings in Houla last month, in which over 100 people were killed, saying they have been barred from visiting the town.As fighting between government security forces and opposition fighters continues across Syria, UN-Arab envoy Kofi Annan has invited the five permanent members of the UN Security C

5、ouncil, plus Turkey, Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar, to discuss the situation this weekend.The Action Group for Syria should agree on guidelines and principles for a Syrian-led political transition that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people; and to agree on actions that will make these objectives a rea

6、lity on the ground. I look forward to a productive meeting this weekend, where we can agree on concrete steps and actions to end the cycle of violence and bring peace and stability to the Syrian people.The Chinese foreign ministry says China will work with the international community to push for the

7、 political dialogue, saying it is imperative to adhere to the right direction.U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says Annan is drafting a new peace plan on the conflict-torn country, though she has fallen short of giving more details.Syrias close ally Iran has not been mentioned in Annans invit

8、ation list despite Russias wish they should attend.Irans UN ambassador Mohammad Khazaee says the major problem in Syria is foreign intervention.One of the major reasons and cause for the problem in Syria is the foreign interventions, supporting militarily and financially the opposition groups and te

9、rrorist groups in Syria. So, therefore on the other hand, we believe that reform should take place in Syria. Some good steps have been so far taken.The Syrian government and the opposition agreed to a peace plan brokered by Annan in April, but it has continually been violated.Annans deputy envoy says the violence in Syria has reached or surpassed the levels before the ceasefire was brokered.For CRI, Im Su Yi.
