9、ative pronouns. T: Now lets analyse the structure and components of these restrictive relative clauses following the example above. Here are some rules: A restrictive relative clause is used to modify a noun, pronoun or noun phrase before it. The noun, pronoun or noun phrase is the antecedent. We ca

10、n use relative pronouns to introduce restrictive relative clauses. The most frequently used relative pronouns include who, whom, which, that, whose. We use which for things, and who and whom for people. We can use that for both things and people. We use whose to show possession. The relative pronoun

He trusted the friend a lot.David also had a friend whom he trusted a lot.T: Firstly we write down the main clause, and then we locate the antecedent. We use a relative pronoun to replace the antecedent in the clause. Then we put the claus

T: Now please learn to rewrite the following sentences using restrictive relative clauses and analyse these sentences to learn how to use the correct restrictive relative clauses. 2. Explain the relative pronoun which the antecedent is way.T: In the last sentenc

14、e, we can see that, when the antecedent is way, the relative pronoun can be in which or that or be omitted. But you should be very careful. Sometimes the relative noun is different. Look at these two sentences. 3. Explain some rules of using restrictive relative clause with relative pronouns. Someti

15、mes a preposition can be put before the restrictive pronoun, which or whom, but not that. A relative pronoun can only be ignored when it acts as an object. When the way is the antecedent of a restrictive relative clause, we should pay attention to its function in the clause so that we can decide on
