4、lem. ”While Denmark alone is expected to waste about 700, 000 tons of food every year, the United Nations has stated that globally, food wastage amounts to 1. 3 billion tons. These are shocking figures, considering the fact that about 795 million people in the world are still starving. Denmark, howe
5、ver, has adopted several measures to clean up its act, wasting 25% less food than it did five years ago. One such active move is founding the Food Bank, a local nonprofit that distributes extra food to homeless shelters. The WeFood project is a cooperation between the Food Bank and a religious chari
6、ty Dan Church Aid. The WeFood and other similar projects have raised nearly $150, 000 over the past year. The store is now run mainly by volunteers. Profits are used to support Dan Church Aids other projects in developing nations like South Sudan. Provided WeFood remains popular in the long term and
