2、预习练习题学会描述正濒临灭绝的珍稀动物，并了解世界自然基金会（WWF）。2. 完成时间20分钟。教材助读：Cultural Corner WWF简介 WWF （World Wide Fund for Nature) 世界野生生物基金会，于1961年9月11日成立于瑞士小镇莫尔各斯，创始人为英国著名生物学家，曾任联合国教科文组织第一任总干事朱立安赫胥黎先生。其基本目标是保护地球的生物资源。目前，世界自然基金会是世界最大的、经验最丰富的独立性非政府环境保护机构。 世界自然基金会在全球拥有470万支持者以及一个在96个国家活跃着的网络。从1961年成立以来，世界自然基金会在6大洲的153个国家发起或

3、完成了约12000个环保项目。目前世界自然基金会通过一个由27个国家级会员组织组成的全球性的网络在北美洲、欧洲、亚太地区及非洲开展工作。世界自然基金会在中国的工作始于1980年的大熊猫及其栖息地的保护，是第一个受中国政府邀请来华开展保护工作的国际非政府组织。1996年，世界自然基金会正式成立北京办事处，此后陆续在全国八个城市建立了办公室。发展至今，共拥有80多名员工，项目领域也由大熊猫保护扩大到物种保护、淡水和海洋生态系统保护与可持续利用、森林保护与可持续经营、可持续发展教育、国际政策等领域。课内探究：质疑解疑，合作探究质疑探究：I. read the passage individually

People can visit an animal shelter to choose a pet and give it a new home. Pets need our love and care. Pets can feel shy, playful, lonely, or afraid and they also get hungry, thirsty, and tired, like we do. Be kind to pets. Show them your care.
