Students will develop their ability of making predictions before, while and even after reading. b. Students will learn to make comparisons while skimming and scanning in reading. c. Students

Students shall be aware of the importance of a balanced diet both to restaurants and to customers. 2) Important & difficult teaching points-教学重难点How students could make logical predictions through the whole pro

Student analysis学情分析1) Fundamental state基本情况After the first period of learning, students have grasped the concepts of healthy eating and a balanced diet, and also their importance. Students are also interested in the topic of healthy eating, which makes it a good opportunity to fu

    6、rther their understanding of healthy eating while providing them with more facts through the reading and listening materials. 2) Knowledge reserve知识储备Basically they have mastered the English names of most food and they are able to show their concerns and give their suggestions in several sentence pa

    7、tterns, which well prepares the students for the content of this period. In reading, they will be able to review their vocabulary and in listening, they will review those sentence patterns.3) Class data本班实际3. Skimming for general information1) Students read the passage quickly and check whether their predictions are right. Suggested answer: the readi

Food at Wang Pengs restaurant contains too much fat which makes it losing customers while Yong Huis restaurant offers little energy giving food, which makes Wang Peng believe what she said was a l

    12、ie. 2) Find out the main idea through the following questions: 1. What happened to Wang Pengs restaurant? Why?Suggested answer: His restaurant was empty even though all the food were well-prepared because all his customers were drawn to Yong Huis restaurant. 2. Read the Warming-up and the passage qu

    13、ickly again and answer the questions: The weakness of Wang Pengs restaurant was that it did not provide enough protective food, while its strength was that it provided enough energy-giving food and body-building food. The weakness of Yong Huis restaurant was that it did not provide enough energy-giv

    14、ing food or body-building food, while its strength was that it provided enough protective food.2. Scanning for further understandingStudents read the passage again carefully and answer the following questions to check their understanding. 1) True or False:1. Discuss the following questions in pairs: What will Wang Peng probably find out in his research?Suggested answer: people will grow too fat if they get too much energy-giving food and too thin if otherwise. People will get ill if they

    20、dont have a balanced diet.2. While-listeningWang Peng went to a library to do some research and met with an expert.
