3、 Sha Tsui on Wednesday.A welcome ceremony was held at the pier with man Hong Kong residents and media organizations were present.Captain of Kai Fung Yuen Hong extended his appreciation to the Chinese government for sending a vessel to escort the Hong Kong fishing boat all the way home.In fact, when

4、the vessel was returned to us, Chinese diplomats went on board and told us that everything was ready. They would offer us water, food as long as we arrived at public waters and they would even have technicians to help us repair the boat. Thanks to the assurance, I felt very confident to sail the boa

5、t home.The vessel set out from Hong Kong on August 12 and successfully landed on the Diaoyu Island on August 15.Captain Yuen Hong recalled that they decided to sail away from the island after they got back to the boat but was stopped by the Japanese.We only had a few people on board. The Japanese us

6、ed speed boats, small and big ships to attack us. Then some policemen carrying shields rushed on board. Our boat was stopped and everybody was detained.Five activists and 9 others aboard the boat, including the crew and reporters, were all taken into custody by the Japanese.Thanks to Chinese diploma

7、ts and immigration officers sent from Hong Kong, the vessel and all the crew were released by the Japanese after two days in custody.Seven of the 14 activists detained by Japan flew back to Hong Kong last week. The rest returned to Hong Kong aboard the vessel.The Chief Commander Lo Chau spoke about

8、the mission via an interpreter.We set foot on the Diaoyu Island and all the members are safely returning home. We think this is a success.
