    3、less and sad, or that they are powerful but intolerant and unimaginative, we are pointing to a disadvantage in what deserves to be called “emotional intelligence”. Emotional intelligence isnt a talent we are born with. Its always the result of education, specifically, education in how to understand

    4、ourselves, where our emotions arise, how our childhoods influence us, and in how we might best lead our fears and our wishes. In the ideal society, it would be routine to be taught emotional intelligence from the youngest age, before wed have the opportunity to make too many mistakes. We are now evo

    5、lved monkeys with nuclear weapons. It appears that the fate of civilization now depends on our ability to master the mechanisms(运行机制) of emotional education before its too late. Our technical intelligence is great of course. Its led us to conquer(征服) this planet. But a wiser future for the human rac
