I hadnt told anyone where I was going, so no one would know where to look for me when they realized I was missing. I began to worry that I might have to stay there all night. I had no water or food and no warm clothes
13、. I was very frightened. Luckily, a couple of hours later, a young boy came past on a horse. He lifted me onto the animal and took me back to the village. 14、king at me, and they didnt seem very friendly at all. One woman even spat on me as I walked past. I decided to get off the crowded streets and so I turned left down a small, quiet street. 15、y was blocked by two other men walking towards me. Luckily for me a taxi came around a corner and I was able to stop it and jump inside quickly. I did not work again for twenty years until Mr Mandela and the ANC came to power in 1994. All that time my wife and children had to beg for food and help from relatives
23、 or friends. Luckily Mr Mandela remembered me and gave me a job taking tourists around my old prison on Robben Island. I felt bad the first time I talked to a group. All the terror and fear of that time came back to me. I remembered the beatings and the cruelty of the guards and my friends who had d
