Even college students can benefit from an enlarged vocabulary, which will enhance spoken and written communication as well as providing a deeper grasp of any language. Often peopl

Reading more, playing word games and puzzles, and looking up words in the dictionary are all good ways to learn new words.One of the best ways to improve your vocabulary is to rea

    3、d more.Reading is directly linked with a larger vocabulary, especially if you seek out books in unfamiliar styles or about unfamiliar topics. Nonfiction in a wide variety of fields can teach you new words and general knowledge, but reading fiction is also highly beneficial.As you read, make a note o

    4、f unfamiliar words, look them up, and write down the definition.Playing word games is a fun way to learn new words. Games like Scrabble and Boggle will encourage your brain to play with words and letters, as well as learning new ones. If you play with an open dictionary, you can encourage people to

    5、try out words they might otherwise be afraid of using. Most word games are interactive, so you enjoy company while you expand your vocabulary.Another way of improving your vocabulary is to do word puzzles. Most newspapers include crosswords, simple cryptology puzzles, and jumbles that get progressiv

    6、ely harder throughout the week.Try to commit to completing all of the word puzzles every day, or at least attempt to finish them. Word puzzles can also be done in groups, especially if you enjoy competition. You can purchase books of word puzzles of varying difficulty for a different challenge.A sim

In discussions with friends, I will often hear them say they are not going to read the book because the movie adapted from it will be out soon, which made me wonder what effect, if any, movie adaptations will have on modernday students. Will the Common

    15、 Core State Standards (CCSS) encourage them to read the books more carefully or to use movies to supplement their understanding of the text?The CCSS requires students to provide textbased evidence when reading and discussing a book. By focusing on such evidence, teachers can pull specific details fr

    16、om a book that may have not made the final cut when the book was adapted for the big screen. For instance, after reading and watching The Hunger Games, there were a number of details from the book that were missing from the film. A student who failed to read The Hunger Games would not quite understa

    17、nd Rues impact on the games in the same way as someone who had read the book and remembered all the details that went into her death.I am not saying the CCSS will stop students from cutting corners, but I believe if teachers use the support the CCSS provides, it can be a great roadway to ensure all

    27、ity to go to the moon, the United States must be proactive in protecting artifacts left by the seven Apollo lunar landings,” Congresswoman Johnson said in an email message. “This bill will help ensure that this unique aspect of our cultural heritage is preserved.”Some critics say that the bill does

    28、not require immediate attention because NASA does not have plans to return to the moon. Countries like China and Japan have only hinted about sending people there around 2025, but no one knows whether that will happen. Other critics question whether the bill can be enforced and say that it may even

    29、violate an international treaty. In 1967, the United States and the Soviet Union agreed that no country could make a claim on the moon. Now, more than 40 years since the last Apollo mission, the Apollo Lunar Landing Legacy Act is making its way through Congress. “I know that it can sound farfetched
