He asked if it was going to rain the next day.He asked if it will rain tomorrow（宾语从句），if it rains tomorrow（状语从句），he wont go.注意：如果，从句中有or not 连词，只能用whether or not，不用if 。 E.g. He asks whether she

I prefer that pink coat.我更喜欢那件粉色的外套。He preferred going to see a film .他更喜欢去看一场电影。He preferred to（not） be at home alone.他宁愿（不是）一个人待在家里。 He prefers rice to bread .比起面包他更喜欢米饭.He prefers singing to dancing=He prefers to sing rather than dance .比起跳舞来他更喜欢唱歌。(2)hope for 希望 E.g. He is hoping for his

9、girl friend to come .他希望他女朋友来。5.If you require strength in either body or mind ,red may be of some help to you .require =need 需要 用法:sb require to do sth、sth need /require doing sth=sth need /required to be done e.g. He needs/requires to cut hair .=His hair required cutting .=His hair required to be

10、cut. 他需要理发。Grammar宾语从句：陈述句的宾语从句；一般疑问句的宾语从句什么是宾语从句：在复合句中作宾语，且宾语又为一个句子（从句），这样的复合句为宾语从句. E.g. I wonder（主句） if there will be a football match this afternoon.（宾语从句）. 我想知道今天下午是否将有一场足球赛。 I will go to Shanghai if it does not rain tomorrow.（状语从句） 如果明天不下雨，我将去上海，从句为陈述句句式：用连词that引导，也可以省略. E.g. He said ，“Mr. Zha

11、ng is an animal doctor.” He said that Zhang was an animal doctor. She hopes ，“Yellow can bring me success.” She hopes （that） yellow can bring her success.一般性疑问句的宾语从句：借助连词if/whether ，用陈述语气（前后时态一致）e.g. I am not sure ，“will it rain tomorrow ？ ” I am not sure if /whether it will rain tomorrow. 我不确定明天是否下

12、雨。 He asked his mother ，“Do I have a sister？”He asked his mother if /whether he had a sister.他问他妈妈他是否有妹妹。注意：在任何情况下，客观事实都应用一般现在时。在主句为一般过去式时，从句要确保时态与主句一致，但由于从句表达客观事实真理或自然，只能用一般现在时。例题：1、My teacher told us ，“light travels faster than sound.” My teacher told us that light travels faster than sound .He as

13、ked, “Will it rain tomorrow ?”He asked if it would rain the next day .I am not certain ,”Do the cats eat fish ?” I am not certain if the cats eat fish .He wondered ,”is the girl a nurse?” He wondered if the girl was a nurse.Do you know ,“Is there anything wrong with the watch ?”Do you know if there

15、(许诺)、break a promise（违背诺言）2.She has practised colour therapy .practise （v.）从事，执业，后面直接加名词或代词作宾语。My mother has practised fashion design for many years.我妈妈从事时尚设计多年了。 练习，实践，后接名词，代词或动名词作宾语They began to practise reading aloud. 他们开始大声练习朗读。 practise 的名词practice 练习 实习Practice makes perfect .孰能生巧。3.Id rather

16、wear orange.would rather :宁愿，更喜欢。可缩写成d rather .would 在此结构中五人称，数 和时态的变化。固定结构：would ratherthan:宁愿而不愿,喜欢而不喜欢would rather 后面要用动词原形，than 的前后成分要一致，如果前后两个动词相同，后一个可以省略。常用结构：would rather do sth 宁愿做某事would rather not do sth 宁愿不做某事would rather do sth than (do) sthMy little sister would rather drink milk .我妹妹宁愿

17、喝牛奶。Study skills1.In many places ,baby boys are dressed in blue and baby girls in pink.be dressed (in) 强调状态The boss is well dressed.那个老板穿着很讲究。She is dressed in blue trousers. 她穿了条蓝色裤子。The lady was dressed in white at the party. 那位女士在聚会上穿着白色衣服。辨析：dress ,have on ,be in /be dressed in ,with(1) 表示动作dres

18、s 穿 及物动词 ，只能用人做宾语，而且只能表示穿衣服，不能用于表示穿鞋，戴帽等，也可作不及物动词。She dressed herself and the children in the best clothes.她让自己和孩子们都穿上最好的衣服。（2）表示状态have on 穿戴着。不用于进行时态。He has nothing on at all.他根本什么也没穿。be in /be dressed in 穿着。后面长街表示颜色的形容词。The boy is in black.那个男孩穿了身黑衣服。They are dressed in red jackets.他们穿着红色夹克衫。with

19、表示“穿戴”时，多做定语，且多与眼镜，手套之类的名词搭配使用，不能节衣服。Do you know the girl with glasses?你认识那个戴眼镜的女孩吗？The boy with red gloves is our captain. 那个戴着红色手套的男孩是我们的队长。2.In the past ,womens main job was to look for food for their family.Look for 寻找She is looking for her cat.她正在找她的猫。辨析： find ，find out ,look for(1) find “找到，发现

20、”，常指找到或发现具体的东西，强调找的结果。Can you find a hotel for me ? 你能给我找家旅馆吗？（2）find out “找出，发现，查明”，经研究或询问后“搞清楚，弄明白”，指找出比较难找到的或抽象的东西。I just found three answers. 我只找到了三个答案。（3）look for “寻找”，有目的地找，强调找的动作。The boy lost. They were looking for him.那个男孩丢了。他们正在找他。Task1.power and trust trust 不可数名词 “信任”This should help you g

21、et trust.这应该有助于你获得信任。Trust 还可以作动词“信任”How can I make you trust me?我怎样才能让你相信我？2.Red and white are a good match.match 作名词 “相配，般配”Those two horses make a good match.那两匹马很配。match 作名词还可以表示“比赛，火柴”。You must be careful with matches.你必须当心火柴。Do you like watching football matches ?你喜欢看足球赛吗？match 还可以作动词，“相配”。I think your dress matches your shoes very well.我觉得你的连衣裙与你的鞋子很配。
